| my first nyu-published article!!
http://www.nyunews.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2006/02/14/43f1157a2b72c
its formatted a little funny so until they fix it read this...
A tall, slim man with a thick goatee and long sideburns stands center stage in the dim basement at the Knitting Factory. He is wearing a plaid blazer with slacks that hit just above the ankle. While he strums his guitar, he sings with a deep, sultry voice and seductively looks out to the audience.
and then skip down to the first indented paragraph on the part that starts with 'This is boston fielder...' and keep reading!

| School starts on Tuesday and I don't know whether to be excited or dreading it. Last semester was hell and I don't really know why. I guess it was all of the random Reporting 1 assignments that took up so much of my life. And probably the TA strike that made me have to have classes in Tribeca and in a jazz club on Christopher St. And then also me getting sick and missing a week and a half of school around Thanksgiving two weeks before all of my major assignments were due. Yea that is probably what did it. Either way, I wanted last semester to end and it was definitely the worst of my semesters at NYU though it was significantly better than many semesters I had in high school. I hope this semester is better though I got closed out of most of the classes I wanted/needed. Gotta love journalism at NYU and classes in general. Hopefully they'll be good.
I'm excited and nervous for my social psych class. i got the syllabus already and it seems really awesome in a nerdy way lol. lots of culture, stereotype, race, conformity stuff, answers a lot of those questions. so i'm excited for that stuff. i loved my two semesters of psych in high school so hopefully this will be good. i can't decide if i should switch out of my anthropology class into a black urban studies class. it seems much more interesting and more applicable to my sociology studies. maybe i will. i'll see.
i'm searching for spring and summer internships. it seems like nobody will be in middletown this summer and a lot of people will be in nyc so im hoping to find a paid internship. that would be so sweet. the search continues.
i'm really excited for traveling this semester. i'm going to prague for spring break!! and also ill hopefully travel for admissions ambassador stuff somewhere in the US. ill probably get like wisconsin or something haha. oh well i've never been farther west than philly so that'll be sweet.
anyway im done for now. sai comes home soon! she's been in india forever haha. we have a new roommate in our suite and im excited to meet her. i hope she's cool. she seemed cool and normal from our AIM convos lol. we need to make next semester AMAZING and everyone needs to come visit me lol.
| new years resolution?? - stop cursing so much - take up a new sport cuz i have absolutely no exercise in my life unless you count walking to class/running to class when i'm late
plans for next year while in nyc: - have more parties (70's party sounds fun ehh??) - go to a drag bar wooo - attend male revue!! - go to the museums more cuz i definitely haven't taken advantage of free MOMA friday nights - go to at least one meeting of the ballroom dancing club - more stuff to add??
| ARRRRGHHHHH!!! why am i always so frustrated/bored/angry when i'm home in mtown. i mean i am all of those things of course while im in nyc but usually its in controllable amounts. but all of this nothingness that is called the social scene in mtown is killing me. is this what it has boiled down to after everyone leaves for college? we're all more boring than when we left. damn.
we need to do something FUN and DIFFERENT. something out of the box. how about a day trip snowboarding or something? i mentioned an ice skating trip one night so we can do something but no one seems very interested in that. i guess its better to chill at home instead.. unless im missing something that everyone is having fun doing.
maybe im just too high maintenance and need too much to be going on. whatever thats why i live in the city and just come back for breaks. this summer is gonna be hell unless i get an internship in the city. but i got a good job offer here already... ehhhh this is gonna be a tough decision. boredom + money in mtown or money + working my ass off in nyc...
so here are my ideas that are probably never gonna happen:
- snowboarding trip (looked up stuff at blue mountain and its like 30-ish for a lift ticket, 30 more for rentals)
- trip to someone's college dorm so we can have a party or something seriously - ice skating/roller skating old school style - big reunion dinner with lots of peeps - jess rhee's idea of trip to the mall with nyu jersey peeps - trip to nyc - laser tag again hehe.. dont deny it .. it was fun back in the day
.. i'll think of more.. come on let's do something!! especially since i can't even complain to anyone since sai is in india!
